No, he was elected because we were sick of the Republican nonsense going on in Washington (see 2006 Congressional election). There were way more people who didn't vote for him simply because he's black than there were people who voted for him because he's black. Mostly because, statically speaking, the majority of people that voted for him just because he was black were black people, and black people only make up 12% of the population.

He did make changes: he got us out of Afghanistan and there's healthcare for everyone, which were his two major promises that weren't vague at all. And our economy has improved, amongst other things.

Now, before you or anyone goes and calls me just a run of the mill Obama supporter, I didn't even vote to re-elect him. I voted for Gary Johnson. I knew he wouldn't win, but although Obama accomplished things, there were many things I don't like and my views aligned with Johnson more.

So while I don't agree with Obama now and I didn't vote for him, don't lie and say he wasn't voted in based on merit or that his promises were vague. He said exactly what he wanted to do, succeeded in a few, and failed in many
