Definitely a Kid Icarus game.  Franchises do tend to change after 20 years or so.

If you want to make a new game, use a new IP. I despise the view that "games change" and so the formula is shot in the back in the name of "creativity".

Nintendo did this with Mario, replacing 2D Mario with 3D Mario for TEN years all the while saying, "Definitely a Mario game, you'll get used to it, 3D is the future". NSMB Wii proved them wrong. Now they have different series for each, as they should.
