So with the latest hardware adjustments the PS4 and XBox1 already match the Wii Us current totals when combined. That along with the PC market, future hardware sales, higher attach rates than that on the Wii U plus the PS3 and 360 which are still doing well, means things will only get worse for the WiiU in terms of 3rd party support.
I really think Nintendo as a company is extremely passive in regards to encouraging and supporting 3rd party's on their hardware. Microsoft and Sony give developers and publishers lots of incentives while Nintendo seemingly just sits there with its arms folded. The situation in Japan seems to be changing with Zelda Hyrule Warriors and Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem. NoA however *smh*
Activision will always stick around as long as there's a profit but effort on their part will be minimal. I fear no DLC and a few other features might become the norm on WiiU
