I think you missed the part that began with how they poorly handled development and marketing of the series on Nintendo consoles since the beginning.  Meaning that they failed to generate a fan base so by the time they did manage to develop a quality version, any hope of doing well was long gone.

And don't tell me that Nintendo failed to generate a fan base for CoD fans before CoD even became a series because I already acknowledged the target audience was mismatched and you can't fail to establish a player base for a product that doesn't even yet exist.

I understand you, but really, I don't think they failed to market the game. The generation is winding down and part of the market is being segmented from console to console. I read somewhere that COD sold 25% less than expected.

Indeed the demand for the series is finally receeding.   However, the series has always been very poorly marketed on Nintendo consoles.  Often times not even being revealed until just a few months prior to release and then missing in the majority of TV, print and online advertising.

As a journalist, I've been to Activisions' press parties, received their press kits and seen how they internally push each SKU.  Nintendo was never given any attention at the press parties, was barely mentioned in their press packages and kits and practically didn't even acknowledge a Wii U SKU even existed until longer after development began on other consoles.

And don't forget that Infinity Ward never touched those consoles.  Even now Treyarch still handles the Wii U iterations.

Wouldn't you say Microsoft invests a lot into their relationship with Activision, creating commercials for COD with the Xbox banner showing at the end? I've seen more MS backed COD commercials than any other brand. If its truly Microsofts dollars that are behind those commercials in tandem with Activision wouldn't you say Sony and Nintendo should do the same?

Sony has gotten the short end of the ad stick too and DLC, but they still manage to do well on those platforms. While its not as bad as NINTY systems, by this logic PS3 version shouldnt even sell as well as it does, but it does despite MS deals, so that can only lead to the conclusion that one HAS to take accoun that the demographics or so different on Ninty consoles, of course people who dont like this argument and cover their ears will keep blaming Activision
