Software. Hardware ussually ends up costing the company selling it money or they break even so even if they sell 100 million, if the company doesnt sell software then it doesnt matter. Nintendo outsold Microsoft and Sony combined last gen in terms of software, but since the hardware sales were close, people act like Nintendo barely won, when in reality in terms of profits, they destroyed the other 2.
