Even spyro who the first game in the series was Named after "Skylanders : Spyro's Adventure" has now been relegated to a very background skylander character.

Just to point out in that picture I believe we have 59 unique skylanders so that isn't even 1/3 of the toys. (there are toys which are not skylanders themselves)

I am well aware of that :) With your logic we wouldn't have Jigglypuff in eg. Brawl. Jigglypuff isn't a main character among the 151 original Pokémon.

Well Jiggly was one of the main cast in the TV anime tho, far moreso during the earlier seasons of it but it's there singing and drawing scribbles on faces.
