"I use the word traditional as ''standard marrige''   in this context between a man and a woman.  Traditional in this sense means the christian (not jewsih) marrige - you know, the religion on which the entire western morals and laws are based on."

This is absolutely false.

Well, gee, when you put up a compelling argument like that, maybe i am wrong...

"I never said anything about civil rights, did I?  I also never mentioned any churches or any religious institutions at all. You are trying to spin this into anther agonazing gay marrige debate. Do you get a boner by attacking church and religion? I was simply stating that  A STATE has a right to defend a traditional marrige and its laws, federal goverment has no say in Utah's laws regarding gay marrige."

This is true right now, but can definitely change.  A supreme court ruling would be required to be followed by the states.

I dont see this happening any time soon. Gay marrige is illegal in more than 30 states, huge majority of the country. Marrige is still responsabilty of state goverment

"You do know that LDS church donated almost 1 billion dollars in over 180 countries around the world, right? How much did your beloved LGBT lobby spend on helping innocent, poor and sick people around the world instead of promoting their agenda?"

Since when is wanting equal rights an agenda.  You do realize how badly gay people have been treated in the past.  Labeled mentally ill and experimented upon to "cure" them.  Many had electroshock, some were lobotomized. Being arrested was common.  They were denied employment and housing.  It was real persecution and oppression, not this fake "war on christmas" crap.

Oh my God, give me a fucking break. There are literally BILLIONS of people out there who have it  A LOT WORSE than gay people in Utah, or anywhere in the West actually. And none of that stuff actually still takes place in US, nor does gay marrige law has anything to do with it, so its a lame strawman, at best. LDS church actually spends most of their money actually helping people and making world better place, whereas the LGBT lobby only gives a fuck about their agenda and hunting down anyone that doesnt abide by their views and beliefs. They'd rather spend their time boyocting Chick- Fil- A and making sure their buisness closes down instead doing actually meaningful in the world.

And the LDS church donating money around the world doesn't excuse what they do to people that leave the church (shunning) or the money they spent trying to deny gay couples equal rights.

They dont see marrige as a right, but tradition, or holy bond between 2 opposite sexes. Regardless, they are still widely known as probably the nicest group of Christians in US, and have done a lot more good in the country than LGBT lobby ever did

It's not my fault that you are not that educated.

Did I say it was happening now?  But we are only talking about 40 years ago when this was happening and it wasn't until 2003 when the supreme court finally put an end to all of these laws that made homosexuality illegal.  And there are many gay youths that commit suicide because of not being accepted by family and friends.  And talk about a strawman, why should I give a fuck about how much the LDS cult gives worldwide to indoctrinate.  LDS and other religions spend far more time and money pushing their agenda than any LGBT lobby.

Bullshit they don't see it as a right.  Take it away from them and they would sure change their tune.  Marraige has many legal ramifications that have nothing to do with religious traditions, so that argument is irrelevant anyways.  No one is even talking about taking away any of their "traditions", just don't force them on other people that don't agree with them.

You should go talk to anyone that has left the LDS church to find out how "nice" they are.  It's a cult, you leave and you are shunned, even by your immediate family.

thats odd, I'm LDS and have 3 members of my immediate family that have either left the religion all together or don't practice it anymore.  Pretty sure we don't shun them at all.  I see them on pretty much a weekly basis and have  a better relationship with them then I would say most people have with their family members.

Here is a little tip, the extreme stories you read on the internet are not representative of reality.
