I dont think gestures and voice command are fads - this is being incorporated into smart tvs and smartphones (to a lesser extent). Kinect hwever is a different matter - its use as a definitive gaming experience enhancer has still not happened and even if voice command improves hugely I still dont think the advantage it it overcomes the deficiencies inherent in it. Essentially it will be like 3D in gaming.
