I also get it. But it's just not the same as your mario one. The Why Mario wouldn't work on the PS3 was funny because it was mario and Luigi with automatic weapons as much as it was about laughing at that horrible movie. See, the whole shooter/GTA/"Hardcore" aspect made the joke funny.
This time there isn't actually anything to tie it to the PS3 ( and of course your earlier joke would have worked with 360 as well)
