It's doubtful, but it's worth remembering that part of the reason Christianity was so successful was that it often adapted to the religions that were there before to make conversion easier on the populace. If there was a pagan statue of a woman then they'd simply re-purpose the statue to represent the virgin Mary. Early on, even the festivals were simply re-purposed from pagan festivals.

If they kept that up then it's possible it'd still be very successful.
