Mercenary Kings won’t be out this year while the team make multiplayer smooth
Comment“As you’ve guessed it, Mercenary Kings will not be available for the 2013 calendar year,” wrote Tribute Games. “We’re extremely grateful and excited about people asking for the game on PS4 or the completed version on Steam. It was our hope to have it completed and in your hands for the holidays but the game is not in the shape it needs to be for it’s official, full release.”
That’s ok for us PC folk, though, we can get Mercenary Kings through Steam Early Access.
Horizon updated with 84 new ships and seven playable races
CommentTurn-based 4x strategy game Horizon just got significantly bigger. It’s currently in beta and on sale through Steam Early Access so it’s no big surprise it’s been updated but the size of the release is impressive. There are seven new playable races and 84 new ships spread among them.
Not happy with the races on offer? You can also now fully customise one with the race templates.
Steam lets you filter for games which support virtual reality
CommentWith Oculus Rift developer kits now in backers’ hands, there’s been a flood of announcements from games makers saying their games will support the virtual reality headset. It’s becoming difficult to remember which games support putting your face in them.
Valve recognise this is becoming an issue and have added a search filter allowing you to browse those games alone when looking for something new to buy.
Door Kickers Alpha 7 adds replays and makes terrorists even more devious
CommentDoor Kickers scratches a tactical itch that’s been left unsatisfied since Swat 4 and the early Rainbow Six games. It doesn’t matter that it’s a top down shooter instead of first-person, you should definitely all go and buy it. Better still, seeing as it’s still in alpha it’s receiving updates left, right, and centre.
The latest release lets you record and share your replays. they should all be getting a darn sight more impressive, too, considering how much tougher the enemies have become with their new AI.
Natural Selection 2 update brings back Eclipse map
CommentJust in time for Christmas, Unknown Worlds have released Natural Selection 2’s build 262. The major concern of the new update is a remake of the original mod’s most popular map: Eclipse.
“Painstakingly recreated, the map is faithful to the original while allowing for the evolution of Natural Selection 2 gameplay,” writes Hugh Jeremy, the game’s producer. “By taking advantage of Spark’s modern rendering techniques and UWE’s art resources, the mapping team has been able to remake every corner of Eclipse in exquisite detail.”
