Although there's more interest in the PS4 right now, the fact that they can't keep them on shelves does not necessarily mean it'll be ahead for December. That logic doesn't work. Sure they sell out quick, but if Sony only puts 500k on the shelves in December and Microsoft puts say 750k, even if Sony sells out Microsoft has more units available for purchase for those people in stores looking for a PS4 but not finding one, and that could be the deciding factor. PS4 will outsell Xbox One in just about every other market, but to keep allocations flowing worldwide Sony might be sacrificing December NPD. Like any logical person has said though, this holiday season is not going to be reflective of any overall trends simply because of the supply constraints.
