Mario Kart really has lost it's spark though. Double Dash was the last one that truly wowed me (though Mario Kart DS was close purely because dat 60fps on dat little portable!?)
Mario Kart Wii was a massive let down for me though. I hope they tidy battle mode up again. The arenas just got too big. I preferred the tight compact designs of the older MK Battle Modes.
Hopefully Mario Kart 8 will bring some of that back to the home console games. But most importantly, hopefully it'll return to 60fps 4 player split screen like GCN was. Think that's what killed Mario Kart Wii the most for me. 30fps just made it feel awful and unresponsive.
RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.
