Besides; the PS3 sold about 1.3 million in Japan in the first full calendar year even though it had competition, from the Wii no less, the Wii U is competing with 7-8 year old consoles and only recently started beating them. There's really no way to spin this into a great achievement. |
I wasnt disagreeing with u, just pointing he was talking about Japan
And ur right that PS3 in 2007 sold higher than Wii U will in 2013 but Wii U is having a better holiday. Here are the first two weeks of December in any given year for PS3.
2007-40k & 60k
2008-30k each
2009-55k & 75k
2010-40k & 50k
2011-45k & 65k
2012-35k & 45k
2013-25k each
In comparison Wii U has done 50k and 75k in the first two weeks of december this year which beats PS3 in every year except 2009. Whether or not it continues that momentum going into next year remains to be seen but one thing is certain its lineup in the first half of 2014 is much better than it was this year. Wii Fit U retail, DKC Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8 and maybe Hyrule Warriors should ensure it doesnt fall off a cliff again.
