to protect the illusion that our tracking is anything other than a slimly informed guess with constant corrections for the hindsight provided by mediaCrate, famitsu, chart track, NPD, MS/Sony/Nintendo shipment figures, nintendo's tracking services, and other press releases that provide hard milestones for where the numbers need to be in order to be acurate.
since i started my goalpost chartz thread i have very intimate knowledge of where and when adjustments are made. any illusions i once had that we are a tracking site have been shattered. we are a historian site,. and there's nothing wrong with that. there is a lot of value in having everything put in one convienient place,.. but we must keep up "appearances".
