MS cares about 1 market, they've all but given up on the other ones. This is the sole reason.

That Market also happens to be the greatest gaming market and also the safest for them. I don't see them doing good out of the US.

If you combine all the markets they've given up, they add to more than the US. On top of this, the ps4 still appears to be showing higher demand in the US. We will only see which console is truly doing better once supply catches up to demand for both systems.

Yeah it does appear that the PS4 has a higher demand in the US and would probably sell more than the Xbox One if available. But that lack of availability is 40% good and 60% bad for MS.

40% good: people go to a store for a PS4, can't find it and decide to buy Xbox One.

60% bad: people who thinks that the PS4 will not be available until February will be on the look and quickly buy it (which might explains the quick sold out everytime it's available) grow the install base a lot faster for Sony. I fall on the this category. It's my first time buying a console at launch. I have always considered launch buyers as beta Testers. But the fear of not being able to find a PS4 till February, March got me to be on the look out everyday until I found one.
