I think both are doing the best they can at the moment. MS has no choice but to focus on the US and UK. They can't compete with a cheaper PS4 in Europe, but they can in the US.

And Sony is growing their install base Worldwide. Making sure by the time MS reaches those places, people will not care that much specially if they can get Infamous and The Order out by then. I remember reading that Sony is loosing money on each P4 sold in the US but are breaking even in Europe with 400 Euro compared to $400. So financially it's a little healthier for Sony to sell more out of the States.

But Sony must not like the idea of someone coming in to buy a PS4, can't find it and end up buying a Xbox One. Will be interesting to see how Sony handle their next shipments
