It's simple, Nintendo tried to appeal to both the core and casual gaming markets, and failed miserably at it because the core market wants cutting edge technology, visuals and gameplay, and the casual market wants whatever the cool hip trendy thing of the month is (which right now ironically is the two new "core" consoles, PS4 and Xbone).

Nintendo caught lightning in a bottle with the Wii, and seriously thought they could replicate that by putting out another underpowered console with a gimmick controller and minimalist software. Now they're stranded without a paddle in the middle of their "blue ocean" while the guys with yachts and speedboats are waving to them in the distance.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.
