Just because the WII is a phenomena among the gaming industry does not mean you can count it's success out. BTW if you think the way for nintendo to prosper is through gamecube or n64 they had much better 3rd party support compared to the WII and much more modern hardware and guess what? They both failed miserably in getting a relevant marketshare so these clearly isn't the console path to go towards. If you want to know the real reason as to why the wii sold alot then you have to believe the "software sells hardware" mantra otherwise you will fail to understand why every other console had succeeded before it. Why did the PS1 sell ? Why did the PS2 sell ? Why did the SNES sell ? They had one thing all in common and it's the games whether 1st or 3rd party. The WII U was able to dominate with 1st party games. Yes motion controls was one of the reason the WII succeeded but it was NOT motion controls ALONE that propelled the WII it is today. It is the ultra good software that moves hardware. No one is trying to replicate it's success in the console space because nintendo keeps going back to making dumb gamecube esque games that nobody wants. Microsoft sure as hell isn't trying because kinect WAS THE ACTUAL FAD. We now know that microsoft truly don't care about the WII audience otherwise it would have sold much better if they gave relevant software to it. |
yea and nintendo has always made great software, i would say the N64 was easily the most revolutionary, for you to say that nintendo games on wii were so much better then then every generation of nintendo consoles and wiiu is just laughable, dude it's the motion controls that sold that sold the wii, even kinect which had inferior software and controls managed 30 million, so motion controls played a huge role that generation
