Mario kart is the only franchise that nintendo gives a damn in making it good aside from 3D mario. Nintendo can make people hungry again for mario if they start by cutting the bullshit from 2D mario. I'm sick and tired of nintendo treating it like crap. Have they no shame in rehashing 2D marios but give 3D marios the better treatment. GTA is a good franchise because rockstar truly does care about making it into a good game. It was only until GTA 3 that the franchise got big and started growing the gaming audience. |
I would'nt go that far but I get the point. Mario Kart,Zelda,Pokemon,Donkey Kong,Smash Bros,Metroid (sort of), and Kirby all have been getting treated better. I mention Kirby because I thought that Return to Dreamland was one of the most underated games last gen by far, and it was clear the reviewers only played the first 2 or 3 worlds, because by the end it was as good as any DK or Mario. I actuallly liked NSMBU alot more then NSMB2 to be honest. I thought the whole "get a million coins" things was just a lazy thing for Nintendo to do. No duh, he gets coins. The Wii U one, although really similar to the others did have some solid graphics and the Luigi DLC was the best thing since the Wii version, to me atleast. They need to retire it for a while and come up with some new ideas because they are clearly tapped out at this point, in terms of 2D Mario. 3D World blew my mind because I was expecting a rehash and instead got a freaking brilliant platformer that somehow rivals the Galaxy games.
