There's just one thing wrong with your thought process. The WII was clearly not a fad otherwise it wouldn't live that long because the definition of a fad fits if a trend only lasts less than 3 years and the WII clearly lived in it's fourth year despite the fact that nintendo brought out nothing in worthwhile 2010.
Guess what about the WII U. Since PS360 gamers are likely the largest base going into next gen, they agree with me that the WII U is an awful console and we even have nintendo fans in this forum agreeing with me that the WII was BETTER than the WII U. Funnily enough, everyone that is calling the WII U a trash console just so happens to be the lowest selling one.

i wasn't talking about the wii, i was talking about fads in general, they sale great in the begining and then die off does that mean they are a quality product since you think sales -=quality, is gangsta rap music a quality product cause it sells, even there is nothing good about it, just makes young kids act stupid and in up in jail.

Fads shouldn't even have sales to the tens of millions! Otherwise some fads may end up as quality but it's not BAD per se to be a fad it's just that the quality is realized at that time. So some fads actually do have quality for their given time ofcourse.
