I disaggree at $350 many were calling Nintendo foolish and stupid for selling WiiU way too expensive. Also, many experts claim that the WiiU would not be able to compete against the cheaper PS3 and Xbox 360.

The somewhat sucessfull launch of the WiiU kinda confused the nay sayers but they were proven right the following 9 months after the holiday season. Nintendo has run into cronic problem in development of WiiU games and the software was simply not ready so they never bothered lowering the price of the console until they add enough softwares realeasing to cover the loss on the consoles.
But non the less Nintendo as over 4.2 million consoles at the official start of the 8th generation of consoles (November 2013). Nintendo will start the new year with more or less a 2 Million consoles sold advantage.
