In terms of 3DS, I think it has begun to reach its peak sales at this point, 2014 will probably see similar sales as 2013 and then a decline will begin. 100 million overall sales is still a very real possibility though because there will be another significant price cut at some point in either 2014 or 2015.
In terms of the Wii U, its really a glass half full or half empty thing. The Internet is glass empty 90 percent of the time, but there is still a few positives here. I keep seeing Gamecube number comparisons, but Gamecube never had to deal with 2 other consoles launching during November at the same time, to me, for the Wii U to somehow sell 220k amid all the Xbone/PS4 launch hype, especially when it was only selling 65k or so for months is about as much as Nintendo could have expected. What I will say is that 2014 will be the make or break year, no doubt. If the combination of DK/Kart/Smash/Bayonetta/Whatever else they are working in doesn't get sales up then the Wii U is going to be a failure. The good news is with nothing truly exclusive (Titanfall will be on 360) to the new consoles coming out for almost a year, the atmosphere will be in Nintendos favor to make a big comeback.
