Actually I do:

This national holiday was established in 1948, as a day to celebrate the new year. New Year's Day marks the beginning of Japan's most important holiday season, the New Year season (正月 Shōgatsu?), which generally refers to the first one, three or seven days of the year. Although not prescribed by law, many workplaces are closed from December 29 to January 3. Prior to 1948, New Year's Day was a national holiday on which the imperial worship ceremony known as Shihō-hai (四方拝?) took place.

The holiday starting dec 29 last for 7 days but shops only stay closed 6 days this year. Slight mistake.

Oh.  That's okay then.  Same as every year; so sales trends will be the same as they are every year (i.e. sales will shoot up).  Good to know!

When i think about it; 6 days vs 7 days is actually a huge deal, lol! At first it seems like no big deal but on closer look it isXD
