This doesn't change anything no matter how much we want it to. Wii U is a failure and is going to remain a failure.

*Yawnnnnnn Come up with something original

I am sorry tbone. I am sick of people anticipating a Wii U come back. The number isn't impressive if you put it in a proper perspective. My response is too blunt? Reality sucks. SONY fans are getting on your nerves. You are better than that. I will be happy when Nintendo turn things around but it ain't happening this generation.

And I bet you said the same shit about the 3DS before it's massive turn around.

Nope. It isn't comparable either way.

Do you remember how bad the 3DS was doing? Iwata took a 50% pay cut and they dropped the price of it by 1/3. Yet this isn't comparable?!

And Wii U has performed far worse than 3DS ever did over a longer period of time.

I don't doubt the situation for Wii U can improve. The numbers in this thread and Viper1's analysis indicates that in some parts of the globe, to a certain extent, Wii U can improve and post moderate, as opposed to terrible, sales numbers. 3DS has gone from posting low sales to being the best selling system globally, and is perhaps on track to sell around (90 to 110 million) two thirds of what DS did. Even with sustained improvement, Wii U has almost zero chance of hitting two thirds of Wii numbers (66 million), and would, even with improvement, be lucky to track between one fifth and one third of Wii numbers, which would put the system in N64 to GameCube territory (20 to 33 milion).

I'm not dooming the system here, I'm merely trying to adjust expectations. Wii U has been on track to perform comparably to, or worse than, systems like Saturn and DreamCast, and be Nintendo's worst peforming home console. The situation can improve, and I believe it will, but even with that improvement, the system will only occupy a niche comparable to the GameCube or N64.

yeh i agree the Wii U has performed worse than the 3DS over a longer period of time. Not 'much' worse as the 3DS was doing pretty badly during it's first few months. But yes the duration is much longer. However Nintendo were a hell of lot more cut-throat bout making sure the 3DS was a success. Also it didn't have nearly as much of a game drought as the Wii U. Give the Wii U some more time dude. I would like to believe the Wii U will be able to do at least one half of what the the Wii did. I wouldn't even rule out it doing two thirds.
