You realise you just contradicted yourself? If el Presidente doesn't run the country how can he/she set it back in any meaningful way?
Anyway, I openly laughed at people who thought they were ushering in a new era of awesomeness with the election of Obama. The fact is the US political system is so broken and corrupt that nothing short of a complete transformation can effect any real change. Obama's mistake was thinking that his change mantra could bare fruit by working within the system. I celebrated the fact that America had reached some level of maturity that it could actually elect someone other than a white man to be president. But for the rest of what people hoped I knew they were all false hopes from the moment Obama's victory was announced.
One thing that politicians never fail at, is they never fail to disappoint.
