This kind of stuff happens more often than you might think, especially with Europe. Another example: at the end of August 2011, LTD European 3DS software sales reset to 0. I haven't the patience to figure out whether or not this is retroactively fixed down the line, but I assume it is not. Thankfully, it seems games released before that time are unaffected.
