The fact that the controls are horrible compared to Galaxy kills a lot of the game for me. Mostly eight directions feels downright bad and they say it's because of Wiimote only players. Even then, you can tilt the stick ALMOST 45 degrees the next direction, and then you will not run in the predefined eight spots.

So why not give us stick players a full analog option? It can be good to have what we have now with the Gamepad and Pro controller missing the eight spots around the sticks. But going from Galaxy to 3D World with a nunchuk feels HORRIBLE! It feels EXACTLY like two of the minigames from Mario Party 9 which were platform stages. I don't want that feeling in a 3D Mario game.

That said, I enjoy the setup and general progression of the game, feels just right. But the whole thing compared to Galaxy? Not even close in my opinion.

I can tell you exactly why, those booster pads lol, that was a control problem for me in galaxies cause you can easily overshot unless you are very precise with those damn booster pads. If there is an actual complaint I have, it's more towards the Wii U Game Pad itself and not the game, which are those fucking triggers, Wii U triggers are shit compared to 360 Pads even though better than the PS3, and worse than both X1 and PS4 ones, I fucked up so many long jumps due to those fucking triggers.

This level in SMG2 fucked me over so many times that I got at least 10 lives from it before I got it, if this was 8 point control then it would have been ass easy due to the nature of the play style which is something that is not a problem with 3D World so I have no complaints about it.

PS: You will see what I mean by those damn booster pads eventually if you ever get to the real end game....
