In many states, weed is a crime. Just because someone doesn't charge or prosecute doesn't mean it isn't a crime and the person doing it, a criminal. Why are so many African-Americans incarcerated if they can get off by screaming racism? They do get off but when the rate of crime is so much higher, they get put away more. For example the murder rate is around 800% higher. If they get locked away 400% more that difference between the crime and time is partially the system not wanting to get accused of racism. You yell about stereotypes but then state a stereotype, that everyone who tags in a black neighborhood will get beat. You complain about negative steretypes but then promote them. (Blacks are prone to violence, don't mess with them.) You then talk about stereotyping unfairly. A stereotype is a mental shortcut that while not always true, has some truth to it. You just said beatdowns occur regularly in black neighborhoods. That is a stereotype. Is it an unfair one? No because that does happen. In the case of Martin, was it unfair to say that how he acted indicated a desire for and penchant for criminality? It isn't unfair. All the others you hit on, I'm not sure how people view those as negatives. Now if you started talking about where Chris Rock said you should hide your money, that stereotype is negative. Now as for stereotyping, yes everyone relies on it and everyone does it a bit because no one has perfect knowledge of every situation. If you walk up and hit on a girl, you are assuming that about 95% of the time she wants a guy rather than a girl. The 5% of the time you are wrong isn't hate. Everyone has some ignorance about other groups and they fill in that ignorance with stereotyping. Get 30 black kids into a room and ask them what Japanese kids act like and do and you are going to here plenty of stereotyping. Now moving it back to the actual thread topic, I'd say the financial loss under Obama for African-American in particular, but the country as a whole are huge. His policies are basically wealth grabs from young to old. He is mandating health young people buy expensive insurance so the rates don't go up for older people who need lots of heatlh care. In addition the black teen unemployment rate was about 29% when President Obama took office and in the middle of a massive recession. It is now between 41-43% in a recovery. That is a massive setback. Why are all the results negative if his policies are so great? Why is this the worst recovery from a recession ever? |
How would they know? did they interview all highschoolers? If you were smoking weed in highschool and someone asked you for a survey would you answer you smoke weed? NO!
A lot of kids in highschool are smoking weed it's almost as normal as alcohol in our generation now a days.
Show me where a black person got off screaming "Racism" for a crime and was let off? I would LOVE to see this! Up until Obama was in office selling crack (a black drug) was a mandatory 10 year sentence for possessing 50 grams where cocaine (white drug) was hardly punished at all.
Crack vs Powder cocaine ratio was 100 to 1 and that was the system purposely trying to destroy blacks. Blacks sell crack because it's cheap and their poor customers can only afford $5 crack hits where whites sell cocaine and their white customers can afford expensive cocaine but it's hilarious they are essentially the same drug but prosecuted completely differently.
Stereotyping that 95% of women like men is completely different then stereotyping all black people are criminals.
Touching on another point you had in another post: The inner city black community was a mess under reagan are you kidding me? Raefel Edmond, Ricky Ross, Kenneth McGriff, Supreme Team, Alpo. I don't know where you're getting this "Blacks were better off under regan nonsense, look up how messed up black neighberhoods were back then.
Almost everyone was selling drugs, addicted to crack, incarcerated or murdering in the 80s in black neighberhoods during reagan era.
