Link to the research? just to give you an example,a few days ago i completed a questionnaire by Ninty after registering my 3ds and Mario Kart 7. I didn't care for mario kart, but based on their research it would appear that a 27 year old gamer bought a Mario Kart 7, so they could claim that the audience of the game is 25+ or something. I was planning on selling the game that came with the bundle, so their research might give them inaccurate results.
All I'm saying is, in order for any research to be credible, you have to look at the numbers used and how they conduct their research. For example, when i was younger I used to never register products, so it might be more likely for adults to send them feedback than kids.

Even Animal Crossing play people by the age 19-24

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately the author from Siliconera doensn't explain how Media Create got their numbers. He also stresses that the numbers would be different if kids didn't have exams in Japan when the game launched. So, if I go to a store and buy pokemon x for my niece who's 5, would that count as a sale from a 27 or a 5 year old? It's not like I don't believe these numbers. I bought a 3ds just for pokemon for myself and I'm 27, but there have been one too many studies that used questionable methods. Ninty has stated that 50% of the 3ds owners are kids (again, not sure if they're right).
