You people don't have much faith in the growth of the console market. :P
I don't know too much about the European market, if a console from that region would make the market grow or just "steal" sales from Sony in first hand but also the other two companies. I think it would do both, that Sony would lose a share of their market and the overall market would also grow a little.
In Asia the console market is pretty much just centered around Japan, and has been since the beginning of time. This means that the Asian market is pretty much unexplored until today. PC gaming is by far the largest and most popular gaming market in South Korea and China. If a console in South Korea and one in China could work, then the whole console market would bloom up like never before.
