Microsoft smoked sony last gen when it came to exclusive racers.

If you like your racers, the was no better place to be than on a 360.

Forza 2, 3, 4 & Horizon, plus Project Gotham Racing 3 & 4 ALL scored higher than any GT, Supercar Challenge, Motorstorm etc.

Driving enthusiasts disagree, clearly. The reviewers simply do not represent the driving community. And why would they? I mean, driving sims are probably some of the least "gamey" games out there, so game reviewers should mostly not be fit to review them.

But alas, GT is a video game, available for a video game console, and is therefore bound to certain criteria.

Being more boring and grinding then Forza will reflect in its scores.

Um the sales show clearly many don't find it boring. Gt is about the drive, not the race. Some reviews/people don't get that. You saying it si more boring doesn't make it so.

The fact remains, that since GT3, the GT series has seen a fairly steep decline in it's scores.

I'm not knocking GT for the sake of it, hell, i will go on record now and say that GT3 for me is better than ANY Forza (it narrowly beats Forza 3, but has the rest well beaten IMO)

But i think it's true what a lot of people have started to say, GT is still getting strong sales purely based on the MASSIVE following it got during it's ps1/ps2 heyday.

There's a certain irony to this. I always found it to be way too much of a coincidence that PGR disappeared off the face of the planet after PGR4. Which was around the same time Microsoft seemed to slowly but surely realize how much of their install base was becoming made up of former PS2 fanboys...

But I do agree that PD have taken their largely unexpected numbers for granted, and I'm worried that GT6 not hitting 10 mil will be mistakenly attributed to it's relatively late release.
