A lot of people are too quick to apply the fanboy term. Sometimes they mean it, though much of the time they're just using it as a way to disparage the opinion of someone they disagree with, an ad hominem shot to the corner pocket.

However, I do need to point out that it's very Nintendo fanboyish to hate Metroid: Other M. You gain negative street cred for that, though some of the other things you said could get you knifed in the wrong thread.
