The Banner Saga’s latest “Rough Guide” video focuses on combat
The Banner Saga gameplay details have been released by Stoic. In the firm’s second “Rough Guide” video, the team gives you tips on combat. Highlights of the video include an overview of the hero stats a player should keep an eye on: armor, strength, willpower, exertion and break.The Banner Saga is currently in development and will be released on January 14 for PC and Mac.
Total War: Rome 2 update contains the Baktria faction
Total War: Rome 2 has a new faction available today: Baktria. Originally a part of Alexander The Great’s empire, Baktria was a “crossroads of commerce between east and west.” Baktria offers players “a diverse battle experience blending units from the Greek rosters with those of Eastern cultures.” Baktria will download automatically for Rome 2 players via Steam, and will require players to restart if already in-game.
The Last Door episodic point-and-click adventure greenlit on Steam
The Last Door, the episodic point-and-click adventure title successfully funded through Kickstarter back in December 2012, has been greenlit on Steam – as noted last night. Even so, the team continues to seek funding for the fourth episode in the series.
Dark Souls 2 screenshots highlight Covenants, online multiplayer
Dark Souls 2 has a new batch of screenshots available and you can gawp at the lot below. The shots highlight Covenants, which are a large part of the online multiplayer, and while exploring online, each player can choose to “help, rescue, invade, protect, and take on several positions within the world.” Dark Souls 2 has range of exclusive goodies available throughout selected UK and Ireland retailers with pre-orders of the standard and collector’s edition as well as the Black Armour edition. The game releases March 14 on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
Dark DLC Cult of the Dead now available for PC, Xbox 360
Dark, Realmforge’s blood-spattered, vampiric stealth action title, has some new DLC available. Titled ‘Cult of the Dead’ is now available for PC and Xbox 360. You can check out the launch trailer for the content below, which provides a look at the new environments and enemies the protagonist, Eric Bane, will encounter. Players will be tasked with finding the Book of the Dead, play through five new maps in challenge mode, face the Sniper, and try to best the new boss: the Cultist. It will run you $5.99/£3.99/€4.99.
Sir, You are Being Hunted December update introduces the Poacher
Big Robot has announced the alpha test for Sir, You are Being Hunted, available on Steam and via the Humble Store, has reached its “Teapot” milestone. You can watch a video detailing the December update below, which addresses issues raised by players, and “introduces the long-awaited Poacher character.” This is the seventh update since the start of the alpha.

Stick it to the Man releasing on Steam later this month
Stick it to the Man, developed by Swedish team Zoink Games and published by Ripstone, will be released on PC through Steam later this month. The game is already available for PS3 and Vita. In the game, players explore a world make of stickers and paper while helping Ray, who has awoken from a bizarre accident and now has a pink spaghetti arm sticking out of his brain. The dialogue was written by Adventure Time writer Ryan North. The launch trailer is below. The game releases on PC December 13.
StarCraft 2 Patch 2.1 is now available for testing in the Public Test Realm
StarCraft 2 Patch 2.1 is now available for testing in the Public Test Realm. Those who test the patch will note the introduction of Extension Mods, Clan and Group additions via the new Events tab, AFK lobby hosts, and the ability to do all of this while listening to the classic StarCraft soundtrack. Unfortunately, due to an issue discovered “during internal PTR testing,” Mac users will be unable to access the Test Realm at this time. More information is posted on Battle.net.
