Why would they? 3DS userbase in Japan is soo much bigger and that's where the majority of MH fans are now.

No its not....

3DS versions of MH have barely reached half of what the PSP games sold.  3million versus 6million.

Large userbase doesn't equal fanbase in this case. Just because its available to more ppl doesn't mean the fanbase is also included in that. Remember PSP userbase was also dwarfed by DS's but MonHun found success there when they didn't on consoles(even larger install base).

MonHun on 3DS might appear to be more profitable in the short term, but I doubt it in the long. Capcom has probably opted for NIN exclusivity due to A. Moneyhat and B. Allows them to reuse old assets. Barring the moneyhatt funds, Capcom stood to make the same amount of sales on Vita with the potential to be greater because PSP/Vita fanbase overlaps at about 90%. Crapcom could have just as easily reused assets on Vita too. Attach rate on Vita games is also big right now.

Monster Hunter 4 has already shipped 4m units in Japan alone. Since it's still selling there and a worldwide release is bound to happen, 5m look to be a lock and 6m isn't out of the question.

On topic: Most likely yes. All the arguments against it that are put forward in this thread don't really hold water. Whether that is along the lines of "the Monster Hunter fanbase has moved to the 3DS" (which is true) or "why bother with Vita's small installed base" (which is also true). What people need to take into account is that there were plenty of Vita games greenlit during a time when the Vita sold less than 10k units per week in Japan, and the system did that for months. It's clear that Japanese third parties want the Vita to succeed and thus it isn't farfetched at all that Capcom, the masters of milking, will eventually a drop at least a port of Monster Hunter 4 on the Vita.

according to VGC, Tri did about 2.5mill on 3DS, MH4 did 3mill. The biggest selling entry in the series was in like 2008 on PSP which sold 5.5million. and the last one to release on PSP was in 2010 and did 4.5million. That was only 3 years ago. The series has never been that popular outside of Japan so I would expect any large boost from Western launch of MH4.

This is supposedly SOLD, and not SHIPPED which is what  that 4+mill is saying. I don't know what the weekly sales are for the game now tho.
