I would be surprised if Sony drops their price anytime soon. It's still at a price where they're losing money on each one sold and if they ever plan on having the hardware profitable it would make sense for them to wait. Having a price drop now would just put that goal even further down the line. It's also probably risky considering PS2 software sales, the thing that is likely helping to prop up the PS3, are likely to continue to fall each year as more people move on to new systems.
