It is pretty much proven that college will make you think the average human is more intelligent than they are really. I felt college was humbling too, everyone seemed capable of deep thinking. Hell, it is a requirement to pass. It did not make me fell dumb, just that there are a lot of really smart people out there. Eh, I disagree. College made me realize more how much bullshit there is in the world. I mean, after my freshman year in college I felt like I was given a lens that let me see all the conspiracy bullshit out there. For me, being able to evaluate how sound an idea is was probably the most important lesson I learned. Also, college made me realize that 1) a majority of the people don't know the basic things you learn in introductory classes 2) that you didn't know the basic things you learn introductory classes before you took it and that you probably still don't know afterwards when you forget them.

A french sociologist/ philosopher defined science it as a martial art. Basically you learn how high level fighting is made so you can better counter it yourself.
