Yes.
Because it's not just a question of raw computing grunt, its a question of how well the hardware is designed for performing this specific task. You can't just throw more gigaflops at the problem, it's more complicated than that.
Think of it as two guys; guy A is much stronger than guy B, but guy B has better coordination, so he's better at sports.
