Doesn't sound that odd really, it's the same deal with smartphone touchscreens.

It's human nature to yell when we don't think we're being heard.  Kids do it without learning it.  That's how inherient it is.

As I said, the same thing with smartphones. When my dad got his first he had problems because the moment the screen didn't pick up he naturally answered by pressing harder, wich doesn't really work.
