The comparison was made to highlight how much WiiU is underperforming, so in that regard I don't think it is.

The comparison implies that population should have no impact on the sales of a product which is lol stupid. Aside from the XBox 360, EVERY current and last gen system has sold more in Japan than in the UK. That makes sense cause you know, the population is about twice as big. So, to not expect lower sales in the UK is stupid.

Lower sales compared to their counterpart, yes (not in the sense of 360 obviously). Fact of the matter is WiiU should be doing better than Xbox 360 in Japan for its first year.
