Sounds like Grand Theft Auto, but which one? The sequel's sequel sounds like GTA V with the torture scene, that would make GTA IV the sequel. So is this the last GTA before it? (San Andreas) or the last numbered entry (GTA III)?

I'm voting GTA III, it was far more controversial then San Andreas since it debuted the gameplay.

It's not GTA. Every GTA game is controversial in the media. With this series, for some reason, only the first one was (they got bored of discussing it, I guess. The thing they complained about was still there and actually extended in the third game).

God of War? Over the top violent? GoW3 you rip a dude head off....
