Damn... I actually loved that game! Once you stop expecting it to be a Paper Mario and more of an adventure game (like Zelda), it's good. Battles mean nothing though, and all RPG elements are stripped. It's considered the worst Paper Mario by many, but I like it more than Super Paper Mario, doesn't even touch the first two. Then again, I really enjoyed it... 9.3/10
Edit: The thing is, like Rol said, the game had SOOOOO much potential. The creaters wanted it to be like a full blown sequel to Thousand Year Door, with partners and RPG elements, BUT... Miyamoto stepped in and axed it. Check the Ask Iwata.
