ALBW from what I've played so far, is a big step in the right direction for the series. I'm pretty pumped for the next Zelda after being moderately disappointed in skyward sword.

EDIT: Honestly though, if Eiji screws up this one, I think the series should be given to someone else. He's had his fun experimenting, but he has made some poor games by Zelda standards. Time to return to form.

...Screws up this one? Had his fun experimenting? Poor by Zelda standards?

You do realize that he's only once made a mainline Zelda game with a lower score than a 90 on Metacritic, right? (If you consider Spirit Tracks - 87 - as mainline)

Skyward Sword is a 93.

Twilight Princess is a 95.

A Link Between Worlds is a 91.

Wind Waker (My favorite) is a flipping 96!

Need more?

Majora's Mask - 95.

Phantom Hourglass - 90

...And let's not forget the one that started his legacy - Ocarina of Time at an astounding 99.

Everything the guy touches is gold. Shigeru Miyamoto? No, Aonuma deserves way more credit. He had his fun experimenting!? HA! Experiment the hell away.

His newest games may not be your cup of tea, but they sure as hell are everyone elses.

And for the record, I personally think Skyward Sword and Wind Waker are better games than Ocarina of Time. Get at me.
