Edit: Anybody else find it odd that his car crashed into a tree and then blew up? Why would it blow up? There is no possible way the car could blow up after crashing into a tree. This isn't GTA. Not unless the gas was ignited, which as presented isn't really possible.

The media use the term explosion in the wrong way ALL the time.  Look at the photo i posted above.   looks like it got completely torn apart, the fuel tanks must have ruptured spraying gas everywhere.   A source of ignition would be easy to find.  

Ryan duns (from jack ass) porch did the same thing. I believe the fule tank is in the front of the car. Being that it mid engine real wheel drive and the gas cap is in the front fender.  

yup,   it must have been 1 violent wreck to see..  Not a way anyone would wanna go out.
