What Wii U needs is an entry level model with a pad with a 4.5" or 5" screen (same resolution of the current one, obviously, for compatibility), this could solve many issue: costs, allowing Ninty to price it lower without losing money, packaging size and weight would be just a little bit smaller, but on large numbers it can save a lot of money anyway, pad size itself, making happy those that consider the current one too large, and finally the price of the pad itself would make it more affordable to buy a second one. The latter point can solve the issue of many parents fearing that asymmetrical gameplay could cause quarrels amongst their children about who is to play with the pad.
