There would be several things that I would do if I was the head of Microsofts or Sony's game division for the next generation

1) Ensure full backwords compatibility ( PS1-PS4 or XBox- Xbox720)
2) Start releasing best of Disc by genre from the earlier generations ( I think but am not sure that CDs or dvds can only hold their information for so long) these would sell at about 40 dollars and include eight games
3) actually allow people to download older games onto their consoles. if a person chooses to buy one these would cost between 5 and 10 dollars
4) Video Game Lineup
15% JRPG
05% WRPG
10% Sports
10% Shooter
10% Strategy
20% Casual games
05% Racing
15% Action Adventure
10% Platform
5) Free Internet Usage except when using a prenmium service like downloading games
6) Good Size hard drive for the either system with the option of keeping back up files online for 15 dollars a year
7) Sole partnership with Apple or Netflix to allow for the downloading or streaming of music or movies on your console
8) Allow for the streaming of tv shows including anime ( with subs would come out about a week later) this service would cost 35 per show for an anime and 30 for a regular show. users would be able to download and stream their shows anytime until the Blu ray disc of the particular season came out. at that time the user could opt to accept delivery of the complete season for free or say no to it and get 20- 25 dollars credit towards their next purchase of a new season. If they accept the Blu ray disc then the complete season should be delivered to them within a month of them ordering it. if users accept the later option then the files that they downloaded would stop working within the month.
9) keep the price under 500 and and the price to make the first couple of consoles under 600

10) Keeping using the same basic controllers that you have been using since the first generation of consoles that you produced
