The only down side is many would never beat a team. The developers and other staffers take full advatage of the Pokemon they have. Fire Gyms would suck. All of the fire pokes(or most) learn Solaar Beam and Ninetails learn the grass move Energy Ball. Ouch. Computer AI might be better there.
Of courser the idera would be great. I kind would like it if they waited another generation. We're short 7 pokemon of 500. I say pass 500 and you're good(which would be about 600 since maost generations add 100+ pokemon). Actually, 600 would be amazing for an MMO. They also needs a few more Evos. Delacatty and Farfetch'd expecially but some others come to mind(Chatot, Ditto, Sableye, Mawile and maybe Pachurisa). Of course the game would be amazing. Pokemon is kind of begging for one. Just beware of the EV trained Salamace and the Baton Pass Smeargel.
