I think Sony dropped them because they WANTED retailers to only sell 60Gig models, and they were losing less money on them.

We never had a 20Gig model to choose from.

 

 

It's still available in Japan though, right? If it is, and the 20gb is selling better than it did in the US, it'd be a clear indication the Blu-Ray is a major factor in many Japanese PS3 owners purchase.
