I think it's only a big benefit if they do the style.
The thing that makes Fallout New Vegas impressive is the web, cause and affect and overall tons of different choices and paths that affect the game and change the reactions of other characters. Compared to Fallout3 or other bethesda games.
W/o this web, I don't think the writing would be as impressive. The dialogue will be better.
The best writing and most interesting narrative in Fallout New Vegas was written by Chris Avellone, which imo was Old World Blues. Which isn't this guy. But that's cool.
