I'm well aware both consoles are partially installing data and allowing you to play before the process is complete. However, in my experience it appears both are doing it differently. In the case of the PS4 it appears to install a tiny fraction of the title before you are able to play, often before significant portions are installed, including game modes and high res textures. The XB1 on the other hand is taking a different approach. First thing it does is checks for, and downloads any updates. After than it begins the install. Unlike the PS4 it appears to install a lot more content before allowing you to play. All game modes operational etc etc. Yet with both consoles, in my tests, total install times seem to largely mirror each other. Is one implementation worse than the other? No, I don't believe so, unless you're seriously pushed for time in which an extra ten minutes or so is a total deal breaker. I wonder if MS is able to alter their process to allow XB1 users the same short install times PS4 users are currently enjoying? |
Again spreading FUD about PS4, graphics are not compromised on any game released so far, textures needed for a level are installed at full res, its not a different solution its just a faster and better solution.
X1 is slower because it has to fully download patch first it cant download the patch while installing playing the game, at the moment. This is something i believe MS will fix in the future.
